BRISTOL BUSINESS SCHOOL Full-Time MBA Scholarship

This year we are offering two scholarship routes:

1.25% Scholarship :

Applicants for the full-time MBA are invited to apply for a 25% scholarship.  The criteria for awarding these scholarships are:

a.      career progression and achievement

b.     professional development

c.      academic excellence

You should provide strong evidence demonstrating how you meet TWO or more of these criteria. This will be evaluated from your Online Application Form and from the Scholarship Application (details below).

Please note that a maximum of 10 scholarships will be awarded to candidates from any one country (excluding the UK) in order to enhance the learning experience in each cohort by managing an appropriate level of diversity.

2. Alumni Scholarship:

A 40% Alumni Scholarship available to applicants who have previously completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award at UWE.  The criteria and application process are the same as those for the 25% scholarship but applicants will need to provide their previous UWE student number so we can verify their eligibility for the alumni scholarship.

3.100% Scholarship:

One 100% scholarship open for all students, the criteria and application process are the same as those for the 25% scholarship. If a student is offered a 25% scholarship then they will automatically be considered for the 100% scholarship. Applications close the 21st May and a panel will meet at the beginning of June to make a final decision.

The Sir John Ramsden International PhD Scholarship – University of Huddersfield

The University of Huddersfield are pleased to invite applications for the newly established Sir John Ramsden International PhD Scholarship. The Scholarship will be offered to an international applicant wishing to undertake research in the area of politics and international studies. Proposals should be in line with the research interests of academic staff in politics and political sociology within the Centre for Research in the Social Sciences (CRISS) www2.hud.ac.uk/hhs/pis/staff.php. Applications with a comparative focus on contemporary issues of citizenship, national identities, party politics and political ideologies would be of particular interest.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate academic excellence, the ability to work independently and a high degree of motivation. If English is not your first language, a language test certificate is required with the following minimum requirements for this scholarship: IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 600/250/100.

The Scholarship will cover the full cost of University of Huddersfield international fees for PhD study, equivalent to £28,500 over the three years, and a bursary of £13,500 per annum. The successful applicant would be expected to be based at the University and contribute to work, including teaching, within the Division of Criminology, Politics and Sociology. It is anticipated that the Scholarship will commence in October 2011.

UNIVERSITY OF PORTSMOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS

Portsmouth Business School Scholarships

Portsmouth Business School is delighted to offer a number of scholarships for students who are applying for a taught Master’s postgraduate degree commencing in 2011. The application has to reach the university latest by 31st July 2011.

For postgraduate taught programmes (other than the Master of Business Administration), you can apply for a scholarship if you are a self-funding Home or European Union student. The scholarship will be in the form of a 40 per cent discount from any tuition fees and will be deducted before any other discounts (such as the 20 per cent discount for Portsmouth alumni).

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) scholarships are open to Home, EU and International self-funding students. For the full-time International MBA, the scholarship is a 25 per cent reduction off the course fees before any other discounts (such as the 20 per cent discount for Portsmouth alumni).

CHARLES WALLACE AWARDS IN THE ARTS AND HERITAGE CONSERVATION

Every year CWIT offers about 10 fully funded awards. These are to give practitioners early in their careers a chance to gain wider experience and exposure or to study. The balance between Arts and Heritage Conservation varies from year to year depending on demand and performance at interview.

The awards, which are generally from 2-3 months up to a maximum of a year, cover international fares, accommodation and living costs in the UK and fees where they are payable.

Who is eligible?

Applicants should

be Indian citizens living in India.
be aged between 25 and 38.
have a first degree or diploma or professional qualification in their specialization. CWIT prefers applicants with significant working experience.
not have received a CWIT grant within the last 5 years.

How to Apply

Applications should be made to your nearest British Council office by Friday, 25 November 2011 (31 December 2011 for Short Research and Professional Visits) and should include

completed application form including a Statement of Purpose ( not more than 2 pages) stating clearly what you want to do in the UK or which course you plan to follow and how you plan to put this to use on returning to India.Click here to download the application form

evidence that you have been accepted unconditionally on the course, programme, attachment or internship for which you have applied, or that progress towards acceptance has been made
evidence of a good working knowledge of English
